Well the clocks have gone back—the summer is officially over and once again we are headed towards winter.
Winter is a great time for writing … long nights, dark skies, bright moons, rushing rivers, the sound of red leaves on icy paths and wind in trees …
The solo group has been meeting at Riverstone (thank you Jane and Simon and Heart & Soul Funerals) for the last month or so … rich nights full of laughter and joy, challenge and creativity, and some really stunning early pieces emerging
I wanted to give everyone a heads up about the Solo Winter School:
20, 21 and 22 February 2015 in the village hall in Ashprington
We plan to concentrate on character and characterization this time—finding the characters who want to appear in your story … crafting them into life … noticing how they move, talk, relate—finding our own neutral voice so we can discover their voices, learning to move seamlessly from character to character through a different gesture or posture, tone or prop …
I’ll be sending out more details as they take shape … the cost will be £165.00 for the three days and there are 12 places available … so if you already know you want a place call me on 07838 196628 to reserve a space or send me a cheque (or cash) to Orchard Rise, Maudlin Road, Totnes TQ9 5EX.
If you are coming from Wellington, New York, Sydney, Philadelphia or Jerusalem and need a place to stay let me know asap… !!
If you know anyone who you think would like to join us please feel free to pass on this information.
And the Summer Festival is scheduled for 9-13 July 2015—also in Ashprington.
